My name is Drake Zintgraff and I am the creator of The Baseball Breakdown. I currently live in Hawaii and attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I am a huge baseball fan and am fascinated with so many parts of the game. I started The Baseball Breakdown as a way to look into the world of baseball from all kinds of angles. My goal with this site is to have it be a place where people can come to get interesting information about the game. I hope in time we can build a large online community here and have good discussions over the articles and links that will be put up.

So would Torre still have a job with this record?

Since your too lazy to post:
June Award Race
AL MVP: Manny
Big Name, Big Team, Milestone year, and getting hot
Close 2nd: Josh Hamilton
As long as he’s in the triple crown race, his name will be close to the top.
NL MVP: Lance Burkman
Lance is hitting lights out. Not even close at the moment
2nd: Chase Utley
You lead the league in HR’s, you will be in considered.
AL CY: Cliff Lee
The only pitcher with an ERA under 2 in the AL. His to lose
2nd: Daisuke Matsuzaka
We will see how many starts he misses
NL CY: Tim Lincecum
On any other team he has 10 wins
2nd: Brandon Webb
He does have 10 wins
AL ROY: Jacoby Ellsbury
Running away with it
2nd: None
NL ROY: Geovany Soto
Will be the best catcher in baseball
2nd: Kosuke Fukudome
Cubs have the best record in baseball. One of these guys will be the ROY.
AL Relief MVP: Mariano Rivera
1 ER in 25IP…sick!
2nd: Francisco Rodriguez
He might end up with 100 sv in a weak AL West
NL Relief MVP: Brad Lidge
Lidge has got his groove back
2nd: Kerry Woods
Cubs keep winning and Woods keeps getting better…

Drake your slacking, and don’t blame your computer.
FUN FACT
What is the homerun record for 2nd basemen? Well, it depends where you look. MLB.com has individual stats for 2nd baseman Davey Johnson of the Braves having the record in 1973 with 43 homers. But… according to the Baseball Almanac the record for 2nd basemen is shared by Johnson and Cards great Rogers Hornsby at 42 HRs. Yahoo Big League Stew blog has a pretty good explanation of the confusion stating that Johnson hit a pitch hit HR in a game in ‘73 for which he didn’t start at 2nd base. Does this HR count? That’s for the purist to discuss. As for the record, Chase Utley is on track for 55-56 HRs. Let’s just hope he crushes the record so the confusion is gone.

Hi!
My name is Megan and I’m a senior in HS who lives in NJ. I sent an app. to UHM but i’m really lost. I was wondering if you could tell me anything about the school. The campus, the dorms, the food, the people, anything!! I’m really interested in their rugby club but it doesn’t say anything about it on their athletics page. Thank you soooo much!
